Overview
What is a motorised hose reel
Motorised hose reels are designed to remove exhaust gases and fumes from workshops and garages. They also eliminate the tripping hazard of hoses being left across workshop floors and walkways.
The hose reels can be mounted in two positions: from an overhead support structure or from a side support structure, although ceiling mounted is the most common, wall mounting is also available when space is limited.
The reels come fully assembled and ready for installation. They can be connected to a central exhaust system or each reel can be equipped with its own fan. Reels are available in standard widths of 650, 850 and 1250mm.
Operation
How does a Motorised Hose Reel Work
iXtract hose reels can be specified with various types of exhaust hoses. The hose is wound on to the drum which is usually located above the work area, typically in the roof space. Motorised hose reels use a controller and a purpose built electric motor to raise and lower the hose to the vehicle at the touch of a button, the hose is gently lowered for the connection to a vehicle with the use of a nozzle.
Once disconnected it is easily retracted by the same control method. There are three methods to control the reel, remote control, pendant or wall mounted switch.
