Overview
What is a heavy duty motorised hose reel?
iXtract Heavy Duty Motorised Hose Reels are designed to remove exhaust gases and fumes from large capacity engines, large agricultural machinery, military vehicles and trains are some examples. They eliminate the tripping hazard of hose being left across workshop floors and walkways.
The hose reels can be mounted in two positions: from an overhead support structure or from a side support structure, although ceiling mounted is the most common, wall mounting is also available when space is limited.
The reels come fully assembled and ready for installation. They can be connected to a central exhaust system or each reel can be equipped with its own fan.
Reels are available in a standard width of 1250mm with a lifting capacity of approximately 80kg–100kg.
Operation
How does a motorised hose reel work?
iXtract Heavy Duty Motorised Hose Reels can be specified with various types of exhaust hose. The hose is wound on to the drum which is usually located above the work area, typically in the roof space.
Heavy duty motorised hose reels use a controller and a purpose built electric motor to raise and lower the hose to the vehicle at the touch of a button, the hose is gently lowered, then connected to a vehicle with the use of a nozzle.
Once the nozzle is disconnected from the car, the hose is easily retracted by the same control method.
There are three methods to control the reel, remote control, pendant or wall mounted switch.
